Dr. Woods has worked with the government of Queensland, Australia since 2004 and is currently Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. Previously, she was Director of the Rural Extension Center at the University of Queensland. She has served on committees of the Grains R&D Corporation, the Policy Advisory Council of the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the CSIRO Board, the Gatton College Council and the Rural Adjustment Scheme Advisory Council. She has chaired the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation, ACIAR, and the National Drought Policy Review. She joined the Board of the International Rice Research Institute in 2005 and was Chair from 2008-10. In 2011-12, she was a member of the Australian Rural Research and Development Council and a member of the World Bank’s Agricultural Pull Mechanism expert panel. She is currently a Director of the Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority.
