Strategic Planning Lead

Reiner Hille Ris Lambers is the global Lead for Strategic Planning with the Strategy, Innovation and Communication department. Reiner will be working cross-functionally with teams across WorldFish to nurture and support a strategy-focused culture from planning to results 

Reinier has some 20 years of experience in guiding global research and conservation programs; helping teams achieve impact, developing and implementing strategy, and guiding positive organisational change. 

His love for people, food and the aquatic environment were ignited in the Philippines, where he was a child growing up amongst IRRI scientists. He is extremely enthusiastic about returning to CGIAR to help WorldFish achieve its vision of “An inclusive world of healthy, well-nourished people and a sustainable blue planet, now and in the future”. 

He gained his PhD in Theoretical Population Biology from the University of Amsterdam, and an MBA focusing on innovation culture and entrepreneurship from the Rotterdam School of Management. Reinier comes to WorldFish from Wageningen University & Research, where he led its Biodiversity program towards transformative change.
