Humanity must urgently transform its relationship with nature if we are to avoid potentially catastrophic environmental, economic and social consequences for future generations.
In this unique virtual event, youth activists, CEOs, Indigenous Peoples, and world leaders took a deep dive into specialist topics such as sustainable food production, transforming finance, and ecosystem protection, and explored some of the practical solutions and ambitious actions that are paving a path toward a nature-positive future.
Hosted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), and partners, the panel of leaders discussed actions that form a common agenda, laying the foundations for a ‘decade of hope and transformation’ for humanity and the environment.
On Tuesday, 5 October 2021 starting at 23:00 (UTC+8), WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health Shakuntala Thilsted joined the session on ‘Transforming Food Systems for nature and people - making changes happen.’ She discussed research to policy actions needed to transform food, land and water systems to deliver diets that are healthy, sustainable and nature-positive for people, nature and climate.
