The 58th session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC 58) is expected to focus on the approval of the Synthesis Report (SYR) of the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), which will be the last of the AR6 products. The SYR provides an integrated view of climate change as the final part of AR6, including an overview of the state of knowledge on the science of climate change. It is due for release in time to inform the UNFCCC 2023 Global Stocktake.
In addition to AR6, during its sixth assessment cycle, the Panel will have produced a Methodology Report to refine the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventories, and three special reports: the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C (SR15) (October 2018); the Special Report on Climate Change and Land (SRCCL) (August 2019); and the Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate (SROCC) (September 2019).
