In this exciting event hosted by the Stockholm Resilience Centre, Stanford University and EAT, a team of scientists led by Professors Rosamond Naylor and Beatrice Crona and policymakers gathered to launch the Blue Food Assessment (BFA). The BFA is an international joint initiative, with contributions from WorldFish's scientists and partners, to support decision-makers in evaluating tradeoffs and implementing solutions to build healthy, equitable and sustainable food systems.
During the launch event, the top voices from the food systems transformation community presented the latest science and innovation on aquatic foods, their connections to terrestrial food systems and their essential role in steering policies towards healthy and sustainable food systems.
WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health and the Blue Food Assessment’s co-lead author Shakuntala Thilsted joined the panel to present solutions centered on aquatic foods in providing nutritious and culturally acceptable diets that are environmentally sustainable for the poor and vulnerable in low-and middle-income countries.
