Launched at UN Food Systems Summit with Upworthy, Good Food For All #SustainableSundays highlights how we can all act for better food systems each week by eating a healthy, climate-friendly meal. #SustainableSundays is a core activation of Good Food For All in 2022 and we plan to bring it to scale by engaging high-level influencers, gathering at key moments throughout the year.
Kicking off the new year, the #SustainableSunday brought together a range of actors to gather around food to connect the dots between the lessons learned about nutrition, food systems and climate in 2021 with the opportunities in 2022 to drive forward a food systems transformation. In particular, the speakers touched on the cultures and histories behind the food we’re eating – how can we grow, source and eat to nourish people and the planet, learning from different food cultures and past generations and the triple wins?
WorldFish's Global Lead for Nutrition and Public Health and the 2021 World Food Prize Laureate Shakuntala Thilsted joined the high-level panel of diverse voices to share WorldFish's research and innovation on aquatic food systems in Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Thilsted also shared how sustainable production of aquatic foods are key to continuous access to healthy, nutritious diets, especially among communities that are vulnerable to climate change.
