Context of the event:
In this series of online Listening Sessions, the key challenges, needs and priorities for the region, co-research for development projects, focussed on areas based on public-private partnerships. Our research team was tasked to listen and capture the needs of governments, businesses, donors, research institutions, NGOs, and other relevant stakeholders to strengthen the climate resilience of the Asian Mega-Deltas.
As important regional stakeholders, we learned from our keynote speaker, Dr. Minderhoud from the University of Utrecht, the start of a stakeholder engagement process to co-develop priorities for the 2DI Mega-Deltas Regional Challenge. Dr. Minderhoud explored how to transform Asian Mega-deltas into resilient and inclusive agricultural landscapes with low-emissions supply chains for high-value products, aimed to:
- To get a common understanding of the climate-related development challenges in 3 Asian Mega-Deltas;
- To define priorities for an effective R4D program; and
- To establish the added value of this partnership initiatives
