The ACIAR and WorldFish/CGIAR are organizing a Mini-Symposium on “Fish-Rice in Cambodia and the Lower Mekong” from 1-2 July 2020. The symposium will initiate dialogue to determine the need and opportunity for research for development investment in fish-rice systems from farm to landscape level to contribute to achieving Cambodia development goals, including nutritional improvements and resilience to climate change impacts.
The symposium presentations provide an overview of the status of fish-rice in Cambodia, lessons from fish-rice implementation in other countries in the region, and relevant work on cross-cutting themes of gender and food and nutrition security. This information will inform a Theory of Change exercise to identify technical, social, cultural, and political drivers and/or barriers to the fish-rice sector in Cambodia, key knowledge gaps, and particular areas for collaboration.
