In this exciting dialogue event hosted by MARE2021, WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health, Shakuntala Thilsted, presented her research journey to enhance human development by improving the quality, quantity, and availability of food in Asia, Africa and the Pacific for the past 30 years until her recent 2021 World Food Prize award.
Thilsted discussed the role of fish and aquatic food systems as integral parts of food production, local diets, culture, child and maternal health, and general wellbeing. She shared her aspirations to inspire a new generation of women in science, food systems thinkers, and aquatic foods champions.
