As part of the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit to achieve the global targets for health, food and resilience, the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) organized a virtual Side Event on 'Nutrition Research in Policy: Research impact on policy and practice in nutrition.'
Chaired by GCRF Challenge Leader for the Food Systems Portfolio and Cross-Portfolio Gender Advisor Tahrat Shahid, researchers and stakeholders who have worked across nutrition and associated areas of global food systems discussed research and innovations in nutrition and ways to steer policies and practices that are inclusive, fair and just at the national and global levels.
WorldFish's Global Lead for Nutrition and Public Health and this year's World Food Prize Laureate Shakuntala Thilsted convened for a fireside chat with Tufts University's Alexander McFarlane Professor of Nutrition Patrick Webb to discuss the nutritional benefits of aquatic foods and the critical importance of integrating their roles and potentials in the global transformation of food, land and water systems for healthy people and planet.
