The World Fisheries Congress is one of the largest gatherings of research, industry and management sectors to discuss the latest advances in fisheries worldwide held every 4 years. This year, the 8th World Fisheries Congress will be hosted by the World Council of Fisheries Societies (WCFS), the Australian Society for Fish Biology (ASFB) with funding support from the South Australian Government.
During this 5-day international fisheries conference, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs aim to foster cooperation and engagement in commercial, recreational and indigenous fisheries and aquaculture.
On 21 September 2021 at 07:00 (UTC+8), WorldFish’s Global Lead in Nutrition and Public Health Shakuntala Thilsted joined a session to discuss the power of aquatic foods from diverse water sources, such as rivers, lakes and inland water bodies, to nourish nations and ensure healthy, sustainable food systems in low-and middle-income countries.
