Context:

This workshop, hosted by IDRC in partnership with the ASEAN Socio Cultural Community (ASCC) Analysis and Monitoring Directorate and the Canadian Mission to ASEAN, and organized by The Asia Foundation, aims to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including policymakers, donors, private sector representatives, and researchers. Our goal is to share evidence, solutions, and identify research priorities in the ASEAN region, focusing on climate adaptation and preparedness, inclusive economic growth, and resilient health systems.

The workshop will feature a mix of keynote sessions, panel discussions, and interactive sessions designed to foster collaboration and support new partnerships, including:

  • Convene stakeholders to share evidence and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities and challenges in conducting research for development in the ASEAN region.
  • Share reflections from IDRC-supported research to inform development policymaking and future research priorities.
  • Promote cooperation and collaboration to support new partnerships on areas of mutual interest to the ASEAN region.

 

WorldFish participation:

On Wednesday, 4 December 2024, WorldFish Director General, Essam Yassin Mohammed, will speak at a panel discussion on 'Building resilience to climate change' on the experience of having engaged with IDRC-supported research initiatives and work in the region.
