The tenth session of the COFI Sub-Committee on Aquaculture is currently taking place in Trondheim, Norway (23-27 August 2019).
This dialogue was part of the Virtual Ocean Dialogues programme, convened by the World Economic Forum’s Friends of Ocean Action.
The world is becoming increasingly digital -- data is everywhere and new technologies keep disrupting markets. Within CGIAR there already are many initiatives that embrace those new opportunities.

The United Nations predicts that by 2050 the global population will reach around 9.7 billion. Adequately feeding such a large number of humans demands a huge boost in food production. Changes in diet, climate and demography will pose challenges to food security. Increasingly wealthy Asian populations will opt for more meat, fruit and vegetables.
The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) SLU Future Food and SLU Global will hold a breakfast seminar to learn more about the complicated topic of the global food system and the threats the new pandemic has on it.
