Montgomery (Monty) Simus has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Global Growth and Development for WorldFish. 

Returning to WorldFish after a short sabbatical, Monty will provide executive-level vision, leadership, and organizational direction to help define WorldFish’s global expansion plans and market activation initiatives.  

He will advise on catalytic investment opportunities and key organizational relationships and activities, working alongside multiple teams, including Business Development and Partnerships, and Strategy, Innovation, and Communications.  

Based in the United States, Monty is a global executive who spent much of the past two decades focused on the deployment of catalytic philanthropy, innovative finance, and equity investment capital to high-growth, purpose-driven enterprises that serve millions of stakeholders in emerging markets. 

Monty is passionate about impact philanthropy, especially in the fields of the environment, climate change, and aquatic foods. A graduate of Yale and Harvard, he served as a Senior Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow at Harvard from 2015 – 2017 focusing on research related to the water-energy-food nexus, and is a frequent writer and speaker on issues of freshwater scarcity, the linkages between water and energy, and emerging markets.
