Every year, the International Women's Day on March 8th offers an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is also - a call to action for accelerating gender equality everywhere. As we mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, this year’s theme I am Generation Equality: Realizing Women’s Rights’ is a reminder of how much we have yet to accomplish to remove the systemic barriers that hold women and girls back from equal participation in all avenues of life.
