The government of Kenya will co-host three parallel events in Nairobi in early September: the Africa Climate Science Symposium (ACCS, 1-3 September) the Africa Climate Summit (ACS, 4-6 September) and the Africa Climate Week 2023 (ACW, September 4-8).

Africa Climate Science Symposium
An Africa Climate Science Symposium is planned will be held as a lead-up to the Africa Climate Summit to provide a platform for scientists and decision-makers to set science and policy priorities across the continent, share experiences and expertise on science, policy and practice nexus across Africa, and develop an outcome statement for the Africa Climate Summit and UNFCCC COP28. It seeks to facilitate exchanges on key science and policy questions on the Africa Climate Summit thematic areas.
Africa Climate Week
Africa Climate Week is part of four Regional Climate Weeks leading up to UN Climate Change Conference COP28. It serves as a platform for African policymakers, businesses, and civil society to exchange climate solutions and strategies in preparation for COP28.
Africa Climate Summit
The Africa Climate Summit, co-hosted by Kenya and the African Union Commission, gathers leaders, development partners, private sector, academia, civil society, women, and youth, emphasizing the nexus between climate change and development, and the need for increased global climate investment, while focusing on the African context.
