Headquartered in Penang, Malaysia, we operate globally across 27 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific, with a diverse team of 407 staff representing 37 nationalities. Our efforts are strategically focused on regions where sustainable development challenges can be most effectively addressed through holistic aquatic food systems solutions.

Our research teams collaborate closely with national agricultural research institutions and relevant government ministries. Together, we strengthen local capacities, enhance scientific research and data capabilities, and drive research-to-policy program development, management, and implementation.

As part of One CGIAR, our partnerships extend our reach to key regional economic actors and intergovernmental organizations, influencing discourse, policy, and practices for sustainable development on a global scale.
