The event highlighted the opportunities and challenges to accelerate innovative research and technology to transform global food systems on the road to the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and beyond.

Hosted by the UN and MUSE-Montpellier Université d'excellence, the event brought together experts from various research institutions, policymakers and organizations in this seminar to gather real-life perspectives in order to inform and strengthen science-policies linkages to  benefit the livelihoods of almost 2 billion people suffering from malnutrition and food insecurities in developing countries.

Marco Ferroni, Chair of CGIAR System Board, and Executive Management Team, CGIAR, Kundhavi Kadiresan, drew on their institutional and scientific partnership with the French Government to accelerate agricultural research in food systems transformation for development in the South.
