A webinar exploring gender-equitable solutions for more inclusive and resilient aquatic food systems.
Date: Tuesday, 16 March 2021
Time: 17:30-19:00 (UTC+8)
Following the week after the 2021 International Women’s Day, gender research leaders came together to discuss innovative solutions for addressing gender disparity issues in food systems' value chains.
WorldFish’s Global Research Leader for Gender, Cynthia McDougall and Senior Gender Specialist, Afrina Choudhury, joined the expert panel to discuss the role of gender transformative approaches (GTA), a WorldFish pioneered project which was recently selected as one of CGIAR's 50 years of breakthrough innovations for gender equality.
Mcdougall and Choudhury provided insights on how to effectively apply GTA in research, policy and investment opportunities to achieve gender-equitable outcomes in food security and nutrition for people in low- and middle-income countries.
