Senior Scientist

David is an aquatic animal health microbiologist who earned his PhD in Infection and Immunity from the University of Glasgow in 2000, focusing on the bacteriology of farmed Atlantic halibut. Prior to joining WorldFish, he served as the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) Head of the UK FAO Reference Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance.  David has also worked in Hawaii at the Oceanic Institute, where he assisted in the development of rearing programmes for tropical marine finfish and shrimp species.
