The purpose of this study was to characterize existing aquaculture farming systems and livelihoods in rural Nigeria, specifically in the states of Delta and Ogun. The specific objectives were: i) To identify the characteristics extent of different farming systems and their performance; ii) To identify the prevalence of these farming systems in the areas; and iii) To identify opportunities for interventions across the value chain that enhance the performance of aquaculture in these areas.
