True sustainability has long been elusive for the ocean. It’s time to act. For WorldFish, researchers namely, Shakuntala Thilsted, Eddie Allison Afrina Choudhury, Cynthia McDougall, Danika Kleiber, and John Kurien have contributed to the following Blue Papers: The Future of Food from the Sea, Towards Ocean Equity, The Human Relationship with our Ocean Planet and The Ocean Transition: What to learn from System Transitions.

From Fiji to Mexico, in their national launches, countries shared their country-specific plans and discussed priority actions to transform how the world can protect and use the ocean and ultimately sustainably manage humanity’s impacts on it.

They also spotlighted the action underway to support the agenda and accelerate, scale and finance ocean action. Countries were joined by prominent guest speakers from across government, business, finance, civil society and the scientific community.
