The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is the central United Nations platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .

The theme of the 2025 ECOSOC and HLPF is “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind”.The SDGs to be reviewed in-depth are Goals 3, 5, 8, 14 and 17.

 

WorldFish participation:

  • WorldFish has consistently pushed for integrating aquatic food systems into global development frameworks. The HLPF will provide a stage to influence SDGs, including SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDG 14 (Life Under Water), reporting, and implementation plans. 
  • Our participation in recent years reflects our commitment, and on our 50th birthday, we aim to continue to include aquatic foods in global strategies and nationally determined contributions (NDCs).
