Project Management Lead

Anar Khalil is an International Development professional with 20 years of experience in agriculture and private sector development. For the past 15 years, he has been with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) serving in Azerbaijan, Iraq and BangladeshMost recently, Anar served as a Deputy/Acting Feed the Future (FTF) Team Leader with the USAID/Bangladesh and handled program management responsibilities for USAID’s FTF portfolio and managing over USD 75 million FTF Food Security and Agricultural Development programs covering agricultural research and development, extension services, market systems & value chains, mechanization, aquaculture and nutrition. At USAID Bangladesh he also led the development of USD 250 million, Five Year FTF Bangladesh Country Strategy.  

Anar has many years of experience in design, management and implementation of development programs with focus addressing food insecurity, disaster recovery, private sector development and economic growth in conflict and transition economies. Halso advised USAID on private sector engagement and market systems development. 

 

Anar holds MBA Degree from Warwick Business School and B.S. in Economics. Anar was born and raised in Azerbaijan and fluent in Azerbaijani (native), Russian, Turkish and English.
