Career Summary: Working in USAID, DANIDA and DFID funded projects, namely SAPLING, CREL, IPAC, SHOUHARDO Program, CBFM-2, MACH, MAEP, CARE-IFFD and RFD.

Responsibilities were establishment of fishery, wildlife, livelihood and gender related database, designing and conducting survey, data analysis, Mapping, project management, conduct staff training, fish culture research, experiment on the feasibility of giant shrimp breeding and larvae rearing, collection and study on abundance and identification of juvenile prawn and fin fish fry.

Professional Experience: 

1. Fisheries and Wetland Associate under Climate-Resilient Ecosystems and Livelihoods (CREL) Project, March 2013 to June 2017, WorldFish, Bangladesh.

Responsibilities:

1.         Establish fishery related database for the monitoring conducted by the respective project partners of CREL using MS-Access self-prepared application software

2.         Establish fishery related baseline analysis for relevant project sites

3.         Support M & E Specialist, CREL to support CrelLink.

4.         Assist project partners to expansion areas under co-management within landscape

5.         Organize meeting with the project partner’s data collectors on data requirement and data quality related issues

6.         Write syntax to process and analyse data categorically

7.         Provide support to the Wetland and Fisheries Specialist of the CREL project on Jalmohal and ecosystems co-management, data analysis for science paper and produce maps using QGIS.

8.         Provide assistance to the project partners on fishery related database management and ensure data quality

9.         Assist Winrock and government agencies to in undertaking longer term monitoring studies.


2. Data Analyst under Integrated Protected Area Co management (IPAC) Project, 19th October 2008 to February 2013, WorldFish Center, Bangladesh.

Responsibilities:

1.         Prepared and update format for the surveys conducted by the monitoring team of IPAC project using MS Access, SPSS

2.         Ensure data entry, editing, analysis and management of central database linked with different surveys of IPAC project

3.         Assist and organize meeting with the NRS Specialist/ PMAR on database management and data analysis related issues

4.         Organized meeting with data collectors on data requirement and data quality related issues

5.         Undertake any other task as required by the Biophysical Advisor and technical coordinator of IPAC project

6.         Undertake any other task as required by the Regional Director of the WorldFish Center, Bangladesh.

3. Field Coordinator under CNRS-SHOUHARDO Program from 17th April 2007 to May 31st 2008 in Sunamganj District.

Responsibilities:

1.         Overall management, administration and financial control of program activities

2.         Maintain close liaison with CARE-Bangladesh and local administration

3.         Ensure coordination between field and Head quarter

4.         Supervision of field activities in 162 villages, 5 Upazillas in 4 Clusters and monitoring of program activities through 58 staffs and village level 243 volunteers

5.         Analyzed program monitoring data using SPSS and MSAcess

6.         Preparation of field level reports on program activities

4. Senior Fisheries Biologist under CNRS-CBFM2 Project from December 2001 to December 2006.

 

Responsibilities:

1.      Supervision of project activities in 5 clusters of CNRS-CBFM2 area located in 6 districts.

2.        Identify site for fish habitat restoration and supervise physical work.

3.       Coordination and supervision of fish catch monitoring and household consumption data collection. Organize and supervise of other project related data collection and editing.

4.       Project data management, editing, analysis by using MSAccess, SPSS and reporting to the Project Coordinator.

5.       Develop application soft ware by using MSAccess for fish catch and household consumption data of CBFM2 project.

5. Computer Programmer under CNRS-MACH Project from April 1999 to November 2001.

Responsibilities:

1.      Data management, field checking, editing, analysis by using MSAccess, SPSS and reporting to the Project Coordinator.

2.        Entry software development in MSAccess.

6. Monitoring Officer under CNRS-CARE IFFD Environmental Impact Monitoring Study from November 1996 to March 1999.

Responsibilities:

1.      Supervision of study data collection on fish catch, household consumption, crop production and roadside vegetation data collection in 12 alignments located in different Upazillas.

2.       Coordination and supervision of study activities.

3.       Data management, field checking, editing, analysis, report preparation by using Fox pro and presentation to the CARE and Study Coordinator.

8. Aquaculture Officer, DANIDA funded Mymenshing Aquaculture Extension Project (MAEP) from March 1990 to May 1996.

Responsibilities:

1.      Responsible for organizing the baseline study of the concern thana, pond survey and mapping the same.

2.       Trained the Extension Worker as a continuous process.

3.       Supervise the project activities, monitoring the cultivation practice and fish production in the selected ponds.

4.       Scrutinizing information, make recommendation of potential loan applicants and supervise loan recovery and arrears control.

5.       Maintain contact and liaison with NGO’s, loan sponsoring banks and other departments.

6.       Report to the Chief Project Advisor and Project Director about achievement, plans and major work problems.

9. Research Officer, DANIDA funded Rural Fish Culture Development (RFD) Project from February 1988 to February 1990.

Responsibilities:

1.      Research on carp-cum prawn culture in rural ponds.

2.       Fish culture in paddy field.

3.       Integrated hen-fish culture.

4.       Collection and study on abundance, seasonal intensity and identification of juvenile prawn and fin fish fry of Bagga river in Noakhali.

5.       Testing water quality of Bagga river in different seasons.

6.       Trainer of local fish culturist.

7.       Conduct experiment on the feasibilities of fresh water giant shrimp breeding and larvae rearing in the coastal area in Noakhali under experimental shrimp hatchery, joint venture of Land Reclamation Project and DANIDA.
