Context:

Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS Forum) is the world's premier forum for African agriculture and food systems, bringing together stakeholders to take practical action and share lessons that will move African food systems forward.

As the world’s premier forum for African agriculture and food systems, the overarching goal of the African countries is to build productive, nutritious, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems that have the power to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. While substantial progress has been made, overall, action to transform is not yet advancing at the speed or scale required and considerable challenges remain.

WorldFish participation:

WorldFish Sunil Siriwardena participated as an African Regional Coordinator to highlight key work in advancing food security, nutrition, and livelihoods through sustainable aquaculture and fisheries across the continent. He also participated in the side event 'Socio-Technical Scaling for Transformative Action' by the USAID Feed the Future Innovation Lab Council, sharing activities with private sector partners to scale aquaculture innovations under the Fish Innovation Lab.
