The 2019 Big Data in Agriculture Convention will kick-off this year with the theme TRUST: Humans, Machines & Ecosystems from 16 to 18 October 2019. The three-course day will be taking place at The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Hyderabad, India. The convention is expecting up to 500 members of the scientific community and digital agriculture practitioners to participate in an exciting round of sessions, dynamic discussion groups, an interactive innovation bazaar, and the Inspire Challenge award night.
The Inspire Challenge is CGIAR’s signature digital innovation process and it leverages the global footprint and deep food security subject matter expertise of CGIAR with expert industry partners to link digital technologies to impact in developing economies. WorldFish's proposal on Rapid genomic detection of aquaculture pathogens, in partnering with Wilder Lab and The University of Queensland has been selected as the 2019 finalists for Inspire Challenge. The winners will be revealed during the last day of Big Data in Agriculture Convention in Hyderabad, India.
WorldFish will be participating at the convention through the Leadership in data for agriculture speaker sessions, on Wednesday, 16 October 2019 from 4.45 pm to 5.30 pm. Catch the session to hear from WorldFish Director General, Dr. Gareth Johnstone and other CGIAR global leadership on exploring what big data means for their centers, opportunities that arise with these changes, and anticipate the challenges as the Centers lead to contribute to a larger organizational change agenda.
