Science, technology and innovation are playing critical roles in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic—a reminder that meeting global challenges such as safeguarding ocean health, and establishing a sustainable ocean economy, calls for a foundation of shared science and a vibrant innovation ecosystem. 

As we enter the UN Decade of Ocean Science, leaders from the fields of science, technology and policy offered perspectives on the importance of a new collaborative science for the ocean, and experts from finance to explore the links between science, innovation and investment.

In this virtual event, Japan's Minister for the Environment and experts from the Asian Development Bank, Mainstream Renewable Power and REV Ocean explored the links between science, innovation and investment.
