WorldFish will be organizing Fish for Africa Innovation Hub Forum; Partners’ and Investors’ Forum on 17 & 18 June 2019 at Marriott Hotel, Zamalek, Cairo, Egypt.
The Fish For Africa Innovation Hub will position fish at the heart of discourse, policy and practice in order to support national and regional priorities to meet Africa’s food and nutrition security needs, while supporting the continent’s effort to build a sustainable and inclusive blue economy, rich in equal opportunities benefiting both the people and the environment.
To help accelerate country, regional and continental efforts to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, the Fish for Africa Innovation Hub will offer the much needed collaborative space, scientific tools, research skills, world-class knowledge along with the latest innovations to utilize fish to help turn Africa’s rapid urbanization, technology adoption and entrepreneurship into inclusive wealth opportunities and shared prosperity, particularly for women and young people.
The two-day program will be hosted by WorldFish Director, International Partnerships and Program Delivery, Mr. David Shearer and the forum include formal talks and interactive dialogue, keynote speakers, roundtable discussion and the tour to Africa Aquaculture Research and Training Center schedule as follows:

WorldFish has played an instrumental role in shaping Egypt’s aquaculture sector since its establishment in the year 1999. The foundation of work by WorldFish, other public and private sector partners - with the invaluable support of the Government of Egypt, has helped facilitate an increasing exchange of scientific knowledge and learning, scale aquaculture innovations and built the capacity of policy makers, extension agents, aqua-preneurs and scientists from 108 countries across Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
Working to turn our ambition into reality for the benefit of Africa, the forums aims to catalyze a vibrant private sector with innovative fish-based enterprises and business associations, new skills, jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities, and provide space for multi-disciplinary science and cross-sector partnerships to create holistic food systems solutions and increase capacity for evidence-based policy and investment decisions.
