The Bonn Climate Change Conference 2025, encompassing the 62nd sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI). This mid-year meeting serves as a critical platform for technical negotiations and policy development, setting the stage for COP30 in Belém, Brazil, later in the year.
WorldFish participation:
- WorldFish will engage in discussions and events that align with its mission to advance climate-resilient aquatic food systems, contributing scientific insights and collaborative approaches to address climate challenges in fisheries and aquaculture.
- Michelle Tigchelaar, Senior Scientist and Impact Area Lead for Climate and Environmental Sustainability will lead WorldFish's engagement in partnership with the European Bureau for Conservation and Development (EBCD), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions, Aquatic Blue Food Coalition.
- Our engagement will showcase country experiences in integrating aquatic foods into NDCs 3.0 and sectoral NAPs. Charting a course from the UN Ocean Conference to COP30, speakers will share priorities, implementation needs, and opportunities for convergence across climate, food, and ocean agendas.
