Dr. Kimberley Hunnam is an interdisciplinary scientist with over eight years of experience conducting field-based research on small-scale fisheries, coastal livelihoods and aquatic food systems in Timor-Leste and the Pacific. In her current role as Scientist at WorldFish, she mentors a small team of researchers in Timor-Leste and Solomon Islands to implement research on post-harvest fish trade and distribution and fish-based livelihood innovations. This also involves working closely with government staff to conduct research and evaluation activities. Kim has previously worked in a diverse range of small research and professional teams in university, private and government sectors, predominantly in Australia. She completed her PhD in 2022 at Charles Darwin University and the Australian National University investigating social and ecological aspects of Timor-Leste’s sardine fisheries and their contributions to food security and livelihoods.
