The 10th International Seafood Summit is an annual event bringing together global representatives from the seafood industry and conservation community for in-depth discussions, presentations and networking around the issue of sustainable seafood. The summit is taking place from 6 to 8 September 2012 at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong. Its goal is to foster dialogue and partnerships that lead to a seafood marketplace that is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.
Three media briefings will be held during the summit to give an overview of some of the important topics being discussed. The briefings will give journalists unique access to some of the leading speakers on the topics.

The State of Sustainable Seafood: The sustainable seafood movement has deep roots and a long history, and its future is being shaped by many different stakeholders in the global seafood marketplace. Seafood has many social, environmental, and economical implications so the need to plan for a sustainable future is important. Speakers on the topic of sustainable seafood will give a broad overview of the state of the movement from their unique perspectives and provide a look in what the future holds.

This briefing will focus on the current state of tuna from several unique seafood industry perspectives.
