The goals of The ASEAN/United States (US) Coastal Resources Management Project (CRMP) are to increase existing capabilities within ASEAN nations for developing and implementing CRM strategies. The project, which is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and executed by the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM) in cooperation with ASEAN institutions attempts to attain its goals through these activities: 1) analyzing, documenting and disseminating information on trends in coastal resources development; 2)increasing awareness of the importance of CRM policies and identifying, and where possible, strengthening existing management capabilities; 3) providing technical solutions to coastal resources use conflicts; and 4) promoting institutional arrangements that bring multisectoral planning to coastal resources development.
