The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2026 convenes in Berlin, Germany, as part of the International Green Week, bringing together leaders from governments, science, industry, civil society, and development to advance solutions for global food and agriculture.   

The 18th edition this year will be held at CityCube Berlin under the theme “Water. Harvests. Our Future.”, reflecting the urgent need to address water security and its critical role in food systems, sustainable agriculture, and resilient livelihoods.   

GFFA is an annual international forum organized by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture  that promotes dialogue and action on global agrifood policy. 

WorldFish participation:

  • WorldFish, in collaboration with and as part of Aquatic Blue Food Coalition, is co-hosting an expert panel to spotlight and integrate aquatic foods as a key part of transforming food systems for greater sustainability and resilience.

Blue Foods and the Blue Bioeconomy: Pathways to Nutrition, Resilience, and Sustainability

| Session Overview:
The session convenes leading scientists, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the untapped potential of aquatic foods in tackling the complex interconnected challenges of malnutrition, ocean degradation, climate change, and social inequity. WorldFish will share scientific innovations and real-world evidence to illuminate pathways and ready-to-scale solutions that are enhancing access to aquatic foods, while restoring ocean health and supporting livelihoods, accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in countries.
