
Scientist
Joshua is an applied economist with over a decade of work experience in agricultural food systems and value chains across the West African sub-region (including Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, and Senegal), as well as in the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Australia. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Management from Lincoln University, New Zealand. His core research expertise is in the application of a complex adaptive systems lens, utilizing participatory system dynamics modelling, to quantitatively assess the ex-ante impact of business interventions, strategies, and policy scenarios within agrifood systems. Additionally, he specializes in developing web-based simulation interfaces as decision support systems for agrifood systems. Prior to joining WorldFish, Joshua worked as a research scientist in food system analysis at CSIRO in Australia and as a postdoctoral scientist focusing on livestock value chains and impact assessment at ILRI.
